<p style="text-align: center;">Amazing!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.margarethurst.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/SKATER-3_Robot-Boy-7_2010.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-155" title="SKATER-#3_Robot-Boy-7_2010" src="http://www.margarethurst.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/SKATER-3_Robot-Boy-7_2010.jpg" alt="" width="292" height="500" /></a>As Ronnie mentioned in her <a href="http://www.urbansketchers.com/2008/10/meet-correspondents-new-york-veronica.html">urban sketchers blog</a>, this is Robot Boy!  Enough said!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.margarethurst.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/SKATERS-1_Sexy-7_2010.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-156" title="SKATERS-#1_Sexy-7_2010" src="http://www.margarethurst.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/SKATERS-1_Sexy-7_2010.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="474" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">This is &#8220;Sexy&#8221; on the right.  It says so on his belt!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.margarethurst.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/SKATERS-2_Jump-Up-7_2010.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-157" title="SKATERS-#2_Jump-Up-7_2010" src="http://www.margarethurst.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/SKATERS-2_Jump-Up-7_2010.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="400" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">And last but not least, this little boy was also in the center ring dancing with a hooola hoop and watching some other people dance.  He was into it!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">This was a fun afternoon with Liz Steele and Veronica Lawlor.  We had a lot of commentary about the skaters and the dancers.  It&#8217;s hard not to, they are such characters and so wonderful to draw.  Thanks for a great afternoon Liz and Ronnie!</p>

<p>This is a drawing I made in St. Thomas, USVI, of the Mocko Jumbies.   I was born and raised on St. Thomas and &#8220;grew up&#8221; with Mocko Jumbies.  They originated in Africa and came to the islands during the time of slavery.  They walk on stilts and because of their great height achieve spiritual space and are the protectors and seers of their villages.  Their tall legs enable them to see evil spirits coming from far away and so warn the villagers  to save themselves.  They are known to be the protectors of children in particular.  I hope, by donating to <a href="http://www.care.org/">CARE</a> through the <a href="http://onedrawingaday.com/2010/01/19/1482-care-haitian-relief-fundraiser/">onedrawingaday</a> website we can help protect the people and children of Haiti.  <a href="http://www.studio1482.com/margaret">Margaret</a></p>
